JUNIOR EXPERIENtial DESIGNER (freelance)
Giant Spoon is looking for a Freelance Junior Experiential Designer to work closely with lead designers to assist in designing projects from concept to completion. This person is expected to have a fundamental knowledge of designing a three dimensional space and the education necessary. This Junior Experiential Designer will also facilitate in the development of 3D renderings/illustrations and graphics, and coordinate with external vendors in the production of the designs.
Design in an experiential environment from concept through to creation.
Ability to multitask, work on multiple projects, and meet client deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment.
Oversee external vendors such as graphic/print vendors, fabricators, and construction companies.
Oversee install and give design direction during load-in.
Have a cooperative and collaborative attitude. Flexibility to be hands on and assist in a variety of tasks, when needed and maintain composure during high stress situations.
Work closely with the internal team to develop the aesthetic, design the space, and determine feasibility.
Overtime and travel is required and expected, if needed to complete a project or meet a deadline.
BA / BS degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Industrial Design
1 – 3 years of experience at a production agency, interior design firm, or architecture firm.
Proficiency in Sketchup and a rendering software (Such as Podium or Vray).
Knowledge of a variety of 3D modeling software such as, but not limited to – Rhino, Grasshopper, Maya, Autocad, 3DS Max
Knowledge of building standards and interior design standards.
Understanding of three dimensional space and construction.
A good visual aesthetic and basic graphic design skills.
Experience in construction documentation and construction administration is a plus.
Experience working on an experiential production from concept through installation is a plus.
Experience in FF&E and retail is a plus.
Highly organized and detailed oriented.
Quick learner and the ability to pick up new software.
